Welcome to the Wembley Synagogue Website
Welcome to our Synagogue website. We hope you will enjoy your virtual stay with us and we look forward to meeting you soon at one of our services or events.
Enjoy your "look around" and if you have any questions or would like to know more about us, please use the contact form or call us.
We have received from the President of the United Synagogue.
“ You will have seen the recent email from the Chief Rabbi and his ruling that we must no longer hold religious services in our synagogues. As he says, "our Torah obligation to protect the sanctity of life transcends all other considerations". ”
“ Please cancel all activities in the synagogue including all services - weekday and Shabbat. Whilst the synagogue office can be opened from time to time for administrative purposes, the site should be understood to be closed. ”
We have been instructed to shut the shul site with immediate effect and that is what we must do. Clearly this closure will continue until it has been lifted by the Trustees of the United Synagogue and, as things stand at present, that may well be some weeks away
Charles will continue issuing new information via email as it comes to hand. He will send out announcements stating Shabbat and Yom Tov times every Friday. It will not be possible to send out the synagogue’s Pesach newsletter but you can read it here
Sheila Braude, our Administrator, is working from home with access to the US computerised database and accounting. She will be contacting members via email as to how they can contact her securely over the telephone to transact shul business.
The Rabbi is also available on his shul phone number: 0208 904 8407.
We will continue to try to do our best for the Wembley Community in these exceedingly difficult circumstances. will try to keep in touch as frequently as possible.
We wish you all the very best and urge you to take very good care of yourselves.
